Recap: Sterling Jets vs. Lewiston Tigers

The Sterling Jets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Lewiston by a score of 57-47. The win was some much needed relief for Sterling as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Sterling found their leader in underclassman Brody Horstman, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Horstman has scored all season. Colin Wambold was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

When it comes to explaining why Lewiston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Bledsaw. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Bledsaw scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Tristen Ray, who scored four points along with ten assists and three steals.

Sterling's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-13. As for Lewiston, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Sterling will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tri County on February 9th. As for Lewiston, they will face off against Lourdes Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lourdes Central Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
