Basketball Game Preview: Elk Rapids Elks vs. Gaylord Blue Devils

The Elk Rapids Elks will challenge the Gaylord Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Elk Rapids was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-34 to St. Francis.

Meanwhile, Gaylord came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 52-48 victory over Traverse City West on Tuesday.

Elk Rapids has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. Gaylord's win bumped their record up to 5-13.

Elk Rapids came out on top in a nail-biter against Gaylord in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 43-41. Will Elk Rapids repeat their success, or does Gaylord have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
