Baseball Recap: Cedaredge's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cedaredge got themselves on the board against Dolores on Friday, but Dolores never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Tel Geyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Carson Rupp was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last eight contests. Another player making a difference was Rylan Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cedaredge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dolores only posted a batting average of .176.

The win (which was Cedaredge's third in a row) raised their record to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dolores, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cedaredge beat the Bears by a score of 15-0 later that day.
