Football Recap: Hoyt Howard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Perryville over Paris

Perryville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Paris Eagles. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Perryville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hoyt Howard, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one TD. That receiving touchdown marked the first that he has hauled in this season.

Perryville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Paris, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Perryville is taking a road trip to face off against Glen Rose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Beavers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Paris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jessieville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
