Basketball Recap: Wallace-Rose Hill Comes Up Short

Wallace-Rose Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 58-28 loss at the hands of the East Duplin Panthers. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Wallace-Rose Hill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Savannah Smith, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. What's more, she also posted a 38% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Even though they lost, Wallace-Rose Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive games.

It was another big night for Jamyah Pickett, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards for East Duplin. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Cave, who went 6-for-15 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Wallace-Rose Hill's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for East Duplin, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.

Wallace-Rose Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 33-26 defeat against James Kenan on the 13th. As for East Duplin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-38 win against Southwest Onslow on the 13th.
