Football Game Preview: Brother Rice Crusaders vs. St. Rita Mustangs + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Jaylin Green and Brandon Johnson Jr. are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brother Rice Crusaders will square off against the St. Rita Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Brother Rice is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Downers Grove North, posting a 45-17 win. The victory was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Meanwhile, St. Rita faced Batavia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 54-34 margin over the Bulldogs. The Mustangs pushed the score to 47-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Rita's win came from a few key players Brother Rice will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Steven Armbruster, who threw for 239 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in one rushing score. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. St. Rita's leading receiver Walter Jones was Armbruster's top target yet again, picking up 112 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

St. Rita's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Brother Rice, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.

Brother Rice strolled past St. Rita in their previous matchup back in September by a score of 28-10. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
