Softball Recap: South Carroll Sets Scoring Season-High Against Century

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Carroll). They blew past the Century Knights 20-7 on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Cavaliers, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Macie Bell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Carroll let Addy Rodrigues and Alayna Enoff run wild. Rodrigues went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base, while Enoff went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Rodrigues a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Bell, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

South Carroll's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Century, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Carroll beat Century by a score of 11-2 later that day.
