Basketball Recap: Hill Country Christian School of Austin Falls Despite Big Games from Katie Hoffman and Jenna Hoffman

Hill Country Christian School of Austin and Geneva squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hill Country Christian School of Austin had to settle for second. They fell to the Geneva Eagles 50-46. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Hill Country Christian School of Austin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jenna Hoffman, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards, and Katie Hoffman, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 17 points. Those 17 points gave Katie a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Milton, who posted nine points.

Maegan Riebel was her usual excellent self, going 6-for-11 on her way to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals for Geneva. Riebel has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Grace Detterick was another key player, putting up five points along with nine boards and four blocks.

Hill Country Christian School of Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 23-13. As for Geneva, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 30-4.

Hill Country Christian School of Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Geneva, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 43-39 loss against Lubbock Christian on the 28th.
