Baseball Recap: Patrick Henry Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Patrick Henry had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the St. Augustine Saints as they made off with an 8-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Patriots have posted against the Saints since April 25, 2016.

The team relied heavily on Ian Brooke, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Conklin, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Patrick Henry pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Augustine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to an 0-0 draw on Tuesday.
