Godby extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Raines. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-62 victory over the Raines Vikings. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Godby got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mekhi Butler out in front who went 8-for-12 en route to 20 points. The dominant performance also gave Butler a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Another player making a difference was Jaden Staten, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Raines' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jajuan Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Johnson now owns an excellent 41.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Jesus Rice was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points and seven boards.

Godby's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Raines, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

Coming up, Godby will square off against Rickards at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Raines does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
