Basketball Game Preview: Amundsen Vikings vs. Saint Viator Lions

The Amundsen Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Saint Viator Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Amundsen is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Phillips last Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Amundsen was beaten by Phillips 72-31. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Wildcats are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Saint Viator took a blow against Marist on Friday, falling 51-12. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Saint Viator has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season. As for Amundsen, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-19.
