Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Trinity Prep

Notre Dame Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Trinity Prep Lions on Friday as the Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds made off with a 50-28 victory. The Irish Wolfhounds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Notre Dame Academy found their leader in sophomore Jazlynn Brown, who dropped a triple-double with 30 points, 16 boards, and ten steals. The contest was Brown's 15th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cara Amadi, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Notre Dame Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Notre Dame Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Trinity Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-16-1.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame Academy will face off against Unity Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
