Baseball Recap: Palmyra-Eagle Comes Up Short

If Palmyra-Eagle was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Whitewater last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Parkview Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Palmyra-Eagle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Brodzik, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Brodzik is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jake Rohda also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Palmyra-Eagle's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for Parkview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Parkview will head out on the road to square off against Barneveld at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmyra-Eagle will be paying especially close attention to the Vikings' game: after the Vikings face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Palmyra-Eagle again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
