Softball Recap: Eagle Mountain Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Eagle Mountain posted their closest victory since February 22nd on Monday. They skirted past the Azle Hornets 5-3.

Eagle Mountain's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Hawthorne, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Eagle Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Azle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14-2.

Looking ahead, Eagle Mountain will be playing at home against Western Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.44 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. Azle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
