Basketball Game Preview: Argo Argonauts vs. Evergreen Park Mustangs

The Argo Argonauts will head out to square off against the Evergreen Park Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Argo has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Evergreen Park will come in with three straight wins.

Argo is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 8th on Tuesday. They lost 61-37 to Oak Lawn.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Tuesday. Evergreen Park walked away with a 41-28 victory over Berwyn/Cicero Morton. Given Evergreen Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Berwyn/Cicero Morton is ranked 414th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Evergreen Park's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Argo, their loss dropped their record down to 17-10.

Argo took a serious blow against Evergreen Park in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, falling 59-22. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Mustangs' Grace Kole, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
