Recap: Marietta Blue Devils vs. Woodstock Wolverines
Even though the Woodstock Wolverines scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, the Marietta Blue Devils still came out on top. Marietta secured a 72-66 W over Woodstock. Given Marietta's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Woodstock is ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marietta found their leader in underclassman Kyann Senior, who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Frances Storey, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
The victory (which was Marietta's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Woodstock, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Marietta will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Cobb at 6:00 p.m. As for Woodstock, they will head out on the road to face off against Rome at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rome will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
