Softball Recap: Good Hope Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Good Hope posted their closest win since February 13th on Thursday. They skirted past the Danville Hawks 9-8. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-4 on Tuesday.

Addyson Burgess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Good Hope got a massive performance out of Natalie Miller, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave Miller a new career-high. Kylee Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Good Hope's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Danville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-17 record this season.

Good Hope will take on Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Danville, they will face off against Ardmore at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
