Baseball Recap: Utica Gets the Win

Utica won the last time they faced St. Clair and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Chieftains came out on top in a nail-biter against the Saints, sneaking past 7-5. Surprisingly, this marked the Chieftains' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Cam Matuzak was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jack Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Utica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Utica's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for St. Clair, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Utica will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Clair: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
