Mifflin comes up short despite John Glover's dominant performance

Recap: Mifflin Punchers vs. Worthington Christian Warriors

The Mifflin Punchers's 16-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 68-53 to Worthington Christian. While losing is never fun, Mifflin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Worthington Christian is ranked 54th).

Despite the loss, Mifflin still got an impressive performance from John Glover, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The matchup was Glover's third in a row with at least ten points. Hamza Mohamed was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Mifflin now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Worthington Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mifflin will challenge Linden-McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Linden-McKinley and Mifflin are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Worthington Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Hartley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
