Basketball Recap: Indian Lake Central Drops Season-High Score on Johnsburg Central

Indian Lake Central scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Johnsburg Central Jaguars. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Johnsburg Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Sauer-Jones, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Sauer-Jones' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Liam McKinney was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Indian Lake Central dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Johnsburg Central, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Indian Lake Central will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Johnsburg Central, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Willsboro Central at 11:30 a.m. Johnsburg Central is facing Willsboro Central at the right time seeing as Willsboro Central is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
