Football Game Preview: Brother Rice Crusaders vs. Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan

The Brother Rice Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Brother Rice is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past St. Patrick 56-14 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-7.

Brother Rice's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jameson Davis, who rushed for 92 yards and three TDs on only five carries, and CJ Gray, who threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. Davis' longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jovan Green Jr. also helped out with an impressive 122 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, while Chicago Mt. Carmel put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Benet Academy. The Caravan blew past the Redwings, posting a 48-0 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Caravan, who after five games remain undefeated this season.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Brother Rice, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.

Brother Rice skirted past Chicago Mt. Carmel 16-13 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
