Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maryville Christian). They came out on top against the East St. Louis Flyers by a score of 13-9 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Max Kalish, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Maryville Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for East St. Louis, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Coming up, Maryville Christian will head out on the road to challenge Lebanon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East St. Louis, they will square off against Manual at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
