Mater Bay Academy waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over the Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes. This was payback for the Rays, who suffered a 67-23 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mater Bay Academy was led to victory by Shandon Bullard and Jose Echane. Bullard posted 12 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, while Echane dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 boards. Bullard continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Rodriguez, who had eight points.

Mater Bay Academy pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Mater Bay Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-25 defeat against Hebrew Academy on the 14th.
