Baseball Game Preview: Clarkston Bantams vs. West Valley Eagles

Clarkston is 1-9 against West Valley since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Clarkston beat Deer Park 4-1.

Clarkston let Jace Cometto and Hayden Line run wild. Cometto scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1, while Line went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most stolen bases Cometto has posted over his last eight contests. Caddis Sevey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, West Valley entered their tilt with East Valley last Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

West Valley pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Clarkston, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Clarkston might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from West Valley in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bantams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
