Basketball Recap: Woodland Wolves vs. Natomas Nighthawks

Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 100-26 loss at the hands of the Natomas Nighthawks. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 971st, while the Nighthawks are ranked 202nd).

Woodland's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lincoln Twilley, who posted seven points.

It was another big night for Manno Jenkins, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine steals for Natomas. Jenkins has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Aeron Wallace was another key player, going 7-for-12 on his way to 20 points and three steals.

Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Natomas, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Woodland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-58 victory against Rio Linda on the 11th. As for Natomas, they have also already played their next contest, a 60-58 win against Laguna Creek on the 8th.
