Softball Recap: Pojoaque Valley's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Pojoaque Valley lost to Espanola Valley on Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Elks/Elkettes blew past the Sundevils 17-8.

Stephanie Romero was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashle Duran, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pojoaque Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Pojoaque Valley's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-17. As for Espanola Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pojoaque Valley and Espanola Valley will both be playing Moriarty the next time they take the field. The Sundevils will host the Pintos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Elks/Elkettes will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
