Football Recap: Escondido Wins Going Away Against Classical Academy + How To Watch

A well-balanced attack led Escondido over Classical Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Cougars took down the Caimans 40-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2019.

Jj Bejar had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 171 yards and one score while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Those 171 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Schmidt, who rushed for 101 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

The victory got Escondido back to even at 1-1. As for Classical Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Escondido will venture away from home to take on Sweetwater at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Classical Academy, they will host Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
