Basketball Recap: McDonogh Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mount St. Joseph, McDonogh was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over the Kiski School Cougars. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

McDonogh's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maurice Costley, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Costley a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Williams, who scored nine points.

McDonogh's record now sits at 10-6. As for Kiski School, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDonogh will venture away from home to square off against John Carroll at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. McDonogh is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season. As for Kiski School, they will challenge Indiana at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
