Basketball Preview: Hunt Warriors vs. Fike Demons
Hunt is 10-0 against Fike since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Hunt Warriors will host the Fike Demons at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Hunt beat West Johnston 60-47. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Wildcats are ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hunt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Na'Sir Hines out in front who went 6 of 8 en route to 18 points and five boards. That's the most points Hines has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Austin Joyner, who posted 16 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, Fike suffered their biggest loss since January 13, 2024 on Monday. They were dealt a 96-64 defeat at the hands of Farmville Central. The game marked the Demons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Hunt pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Fike, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
