Basketball Recap: McClatchy Victorious

McClatchy had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They secured a 72-67 W over the Natomas Nighthawks. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Nighthawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Manno Jenkins, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. Jaylen Russell was another key player, putting up nine points.

McClatchy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Burbank at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Natomas, they will face off against Inderkum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
