McKinley had to endure a 17-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a set and slipped past the Leetonia Bears 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-97) McKinley actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-20, 13-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Leetonia still got an impressive performance from Payton Gray, who had ten digs and eight aces. Another player making a difference was Chloe Williams, who had 14 digs and three aces.

McKinley's victory bumped their record up to 2-17. As for Leetonia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.

McKinley has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Waterloo on the 7th. As for Leetonia, they will take on Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
