Having just played yesterday, the Seaforth Hawks will get right back to it and host the Chatham Central Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seaforth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
Chatham Central will be up against a hot Seaforth team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Seaforth came out on top against Bartlett Yancey by a score of 51-40 on Monday.
Seaforth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Declan Lindquist, who posted 12 points. Lindquist is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Duncan Parker, who earned 12 points.
Meanwhile, Chatham Central strolled past Bartlett Yancey with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 72-57. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chatham Central had a senior duo take command as Reid Albright dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards and Luke Gaines went 7 for 12 on his way to 24 points. Albright has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 35 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Young, who scored ten points and four steals.
Chatham Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bartlett Yancey only racked up five assists.
Seaforth now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Chatham Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Seaforth hasn't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 8.7 turnovers per game. However, it's not like Chatham Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 7.8 turnovers. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Seaforth couldn't quite finish off Chatham Central when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 53-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Albright, who went 8 of 13 en route to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Now that Seaforth knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
