Basketball Game Preview: Seagraves Eagles vs. Sundown Roughnecks

Seagraves is on a four-game streak of home losses, Sundown a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Seagraves Eagles will host the Sundown Roughnecks at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Seagraves is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Plains on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Seagraves came up short against Plains, falling 61-39. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1300th, while the Cowboys are ranked 327th).

Meanwhile, Sundown came up short against Whiteface on Friday and fell 45-33.

Seagraves will need focus on slowing down Isaiah Igo, one of several Sundown players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan McAdams, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Sundown's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Seagraves, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Seagraves came out on top in a nail-biter against Sundown when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 53-51. Will Seagraves repeat their success, or does Sundown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
