Basketball Recap: Lee Central Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lee Central needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Demarius Gregg. The Lee Central Stallions claimed a resounding 70-30 victory over the Riverwalk Academy Lions thanks in part to Gregg, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Those 18 points gave him a new career-high.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Levi Staton, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Dawkins, who had eight points.

Lee Central's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Riverwalk Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Lee Central will take on Lewisville in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverwalk Academy, they will host Walnut Grove Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
