Preview: Mitchell Marauders vs. The Classical Academy Titans
Mitchell is 0-10 against The Classical Academy since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Mitchell Marauders will head out on the road to challenge The Classical Academy Titans at 7:00 p.m. Mitchell comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Mitchell took a serious blow against Sand Creek, falling 76-25. Mitchell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-8.
Meanwhile, The Classical Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Falcon.
Mitchell's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.0 points per game. As for The Classical Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.
Mitchell was dealt a bruising 80-19 loss at the hands of The Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of The Classical Academy's Jordan Wenger, who scored 23 points along with five steals. Now that Mitchell knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
