Volleyball Recap: Lake Falls to Walsh Jesuit in First Game of Season

Lake unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Walsh Jesuit Warriors on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Streaks of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.

Lake was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-16.

Luci Haddad and Sydney Hedrick certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Haddad had ten digs and two aces, while Hedrick had 16 assists and three digs. Haddad has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Walsh Jesuit's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coming up, Lake will take on Hoover at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walsh Jesuit, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Hudson on the 23rd.
