Softball Recap: North Port Wins Going Away Against Lemon Bay

After losing to Lemon Bay the last time they met, North Port decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bobcats blew past the Manta Rays 10-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hailey Perez was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Boff, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Perez wasn't the only one making solid contact: North Port kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The Bobcats are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got North Port back to even at 6-6. As for Lemon Bay, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coincidentally, North Port and Lemon Bay will both be playing Manatee the next time they take the field. The Manta Rays will head out to face the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Bobcats will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
