Baseball Recap: Red Land Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Red Land had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Carlisle Thundering Herd. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Thundering Herd on April 3rd, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

Trey Wenger looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Red Land saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Collier, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Those two hits gave Collier a new career-high.

Red Land's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Carlisle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.
