Volleyball Recap: Amplus Academy Triumphs

Amplus Academy posted their closest win since August 15, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Liberty Baptist Academy Knights, sneaking past 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Archers: when they faced off against the Knights on Friday, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Among those leading the charge was Jayzzell Marquez-Lara, who had five aces and one assist. Those five aces gave her a new career-high. Ashley Galvis also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Amplus Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in four consecutive matches.

Amplus Academy's record is now 2-6. As for Liberty Baptist Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Amplus Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Bonanza on the 16th. As for Liberty Baptist Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Innovations International on the 19th.
