Volleyball Recap: Anaconda Copperheads vs. Thompson Falls Blue Hawks
Thompson Falls typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Anaconda proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks out 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Copperheads sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Anaconda wouldn't go down easily and took Thompson Falls into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 19-25, 15-13.
Hayden Lunceford paced Anaconda's offense, picking up 20 kills. Lunceford got some help from
Meela Mitchell and her 28 assists. Finally, Lunceford was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
Anaconda has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-14 record this season. As for Thompson Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.
Anaconda has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Florence-Carlton on the 9th. Thompson Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
