Baseball Game Preview: Forest Hill Patriots vs. Hazlehurst Indians

The Forest Hill Patriots will face off against the Hazlehurst Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Forest Hill has four straight wins, Hazlehurst has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Saturday, Forest Hill got the win against Provine by a conclusive 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

JaMarcus Byrd was a standout: he scored three runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Stavius Gray Jr., who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Forest Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hazlehurst lost 21-1 to Seminary on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly 20 runs.

Forest Hill now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hazlehurst, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14-1.
