Recap: Alanson Vikings vs. Ellsworth Lancers
The Alanson Vikings stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ellsworth 71-39 on the road. With Alanson ahead 38-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Patrick Puroll, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Puroll is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Tyler DeYoung was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Alanson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Ellsworth, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alanson will take on Harbor Light Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ellsworth, they will be playing at home against Traverse City Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ellsworth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
