Softball Recap: Taylor Takes a Loss

Taylor fell victim to Cass Tech and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Technicians by a score of 1-0. The Griffins just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Not much got past Joslyn MacKenzie ?25, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Cass Tech off the board. MacKenzie ?25 has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Taylor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madelynn Waddell ?26, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Taylor's record now sits at 7-11. As for Cass Tech, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

When Taylor and Cass Tech next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Griffins will square off against Carlson and their six-game winning streak at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cass Tech will try to stop Stevenson's ten-game winning streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Technicians 1.4, the Spartans 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
