Silver came tearing into Friday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chaparral Lobos an 18-0 shutout. The Fighting Colts' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four games.

Azariah Madrid was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, Maria Ruelaz was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mia Sanchez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Silver was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in 15 consecutive contests.

Silver's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Chaparral, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21.

As of now, neither Silver nor the Lobos have any future games scheduled.
