There's no place like home for Fleming Island, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Providence School Stallions 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (99-90) Fleming Island actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-20, 25-16, 9-25, 15-13.

Lillie Eason paced Fleming Island's offense, picking up 23 kills. Eason got some help from Hazel Williams and her 39 assists. Williams was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Despite the loss, Providence School still got an impressive performance from Georgia Birkett, who had ten digs and four aces.

Fleming Island's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Providence School, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Fleming Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Atlantic Coast on the 1st. As for Providence School, they will square off against Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
