It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but North Salinas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Everett Alvarez Eagles 5-4. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 13-4 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Jake Burkhardt, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Gabriel, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

North Salinas' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Everett Alvarez, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

North Salinas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against Gonzales on the 3rd. As for Everett Alvarez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-8 defeat against Stevenson on the 26th.
