Recap: Bowsher BlueRacers vs. Clyde Fliers
The Bowsher BlueRacers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They secured a 80-76 W over Clyde. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Clyde lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brayden Olson. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Olson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Price Carter, who scored 14 points along with five assists.
Even though they lost, Clyde were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Bowsher's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Clyde, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Bowsher will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against St. John's Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. St. John's Jesuit presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bowsher in Ohio (St. John's Jesuit is ranked 54th, while Bowsher is ranked 511th). Clyde will finish 2023 at home by hosting Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Clyde likes a good challenge.
