The matchup between La Joya Community and Kellis on Monday hardly resembled the 1-1 effort from their previous meeting. The La Joya Community Fighting Lobos came up short against the Kellis Cougars, falling 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Lobos as the team haven't won a game since January 3rd.

Their goal came courtesy of Nayma Mercado, which was the first she's scored this season.

La Joya Community now has a losing record at 5-6-2. As for Kellis, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Joya Community will challenge Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something La Joya Community surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kellis, they will face off against Lake Havasu at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kellis is facing Lake Havasu at the right time seeing as Lake Havasu is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
