5A East Metro recap Oct. 30, 2012
Brighton extended the longest winning streak in 5A East Metro this week by beating Lincoln, 49-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Bulldogs.
Brighton led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on the Lancers. Ethan Trujillo threw for 190 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 21 yards in the win.
Jordan Radebaugh provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Northglenn fell to Westminster. He completed 21 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 77 yards. Radebaugh's favorite target this week was Eddie Franco, who caught six passes for 159 yards.
Ryan Belearde was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 232 yards on 19 carries as the Wolves lost to Prairie View. Teammate Nick Etchells added to the ground attack by rushing for 56 yards.
Hardy was the best wideout in 5A East Metro this week as the Trojans lost to the Thunderhawks. Hardy tallied 10 receptions for 169 yards. Bryan Weingarten helped Thornton's passing attack out by catching one ball for 25 yards.
The Norsemen's Radebaugh and Franco have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Radebaugh has thrown for 2278 yards this season, while Franco, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 39 catches for 860 yards. Thornton's Keynan Huguley leads the league in rushing yards with 1777.
J.d. Rosales of the Lincoln is only 30 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Rosales has rushed for 970 yards on 204 carries so far this year.
Going into this week's game against Cherry Creek, Pat Sandoval's team's Trujillo needs 109 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Trujillo has thrown for 1891 yards with 21 touchdowns and four interceptions.
