Avon and South Central co-op [Bonesteel-Fairfax/Burke] played the most hotly contested game in Great Plains (9 Man) this week, with Avon eventually emerging with a 22-20 victory. Logan Mudder threw for 30 yards and one touchdown and ran for 87 yards in the win.
Garrett Kotalik put up the best numbers through the air as Scotland fell to Andes Central. He finished with five completions for 55 yards and one touchdown. Kotalik's favorite target this week was Jared Kloucek, who caught two passes for 22 yards.
Devin Tolsma made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Pirates bested the Cougars. The 5-foot-9 sophomore recorded one fumble and grabbed one sack.
Logan Powers was the best wideout in the league this week as Avon topped South Central co-op [Bonesteel-Fairfax/Burke]. Powers racked up one reception for 26 yards. Tolsma helped Avon's passing attack out by catching one ball for four yards.
Mike Sebern's team's Turner Serr and Garrett Bruns have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Serr has thrown for 166 yards this season, while Bruns, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has four catches for 113 yards. Brandon Kocmich from the Pirates leads the league in rushing with 569 yards.
A big matchup in Great Plains (9 Man) this week will be when the Highlanders take on Gregory. Scotland is currently in fifth, while the Gorillas are in first.
The Nighthawks led the league in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on the Braves.
